Well, that escalated quickly. Talk about jumping to conclusions. The dad really must get out much thinking this is a new age sex toy.

According to Metro:

One girl was left having a pretty awkward chat with her dad after he found what he presumed was a sex toy in her bedroom. Emily received a text from her dad, telling her they needed to talk.

Shortly afterwards, she was sent a photo of her purple portable phone charger – and an angry message from her dad, which read: ‘Well I found this. Why are you making these purchases. That is disgusting! You shouldn’t waste your money!’

He continued: ‘If you have these kind of needs I suggest you don’t leave this sh*t laying around.’

Of course, Emily was quick to tell her dad it was a portable charger – which we’re sure was a relief for him.

However, we don’t see the big deal. Are young women not allowed to have sexual needs? And why is her dad snooping around her room anyway? Apparently, he’d been looking for a chapstick – which, let’s face it, he should’ve asked for first.

Regardless of the reasoning behind entering her room, Emily found the whole situation pretty funny and uploaded screenshots of her dad’s texts to Twitter, alongside the caption:

‘This was so awkward omg my dad really assumed the worst’

The tweet was retweeted 42,000 times and liked by more than 150,000 people – and received a ton of responses from people who didn’t understand Emily’s dad’s deal
