I don’t know what any of this means, but a reader sent us this Refinery 29 article and said “Hey, you guys might like to cover this.” So here we go! Apparently Luluemon is making new yoga pants for chicks that don’t show off as much. Remember the great yoga pants debacle (or, alternate history… miracle?) of 2013? Well now that won’t be a problem….
This month, Lululemon is unveiling a big revamp to its butt-hugging selection of workout pants: The Canadian retailer is now organizing them by “engineered sensation” instead of simply sorting them by silhouette. You can now pick your pants based on “feel” (yes, you read that correctly), choosing among eight styles categorized as “Relaxed,” “Naked,” “Held-In,” “Hugged,” or “Tight.”
Four out of the eight styles are brand-new, and of the fresh “feels,” Naked is made of an advanced material: “lightweight, buttery-soft Nulu fabric.” It’s the biggest pants revamp that Antonia Iamartino, Lululemon’s design director of future concepts, has worked on during her 10-year stint at the brand. “We used compression as one of the elements to architect and engineer these sensations,” Iamartino told Refinery29.
Now you know.
When Tracy Leeser and her husband Don got a text from their 15-year-old son Brett that he was about to be attacked by a group of teens, rather than let him learn the lessons of a hard-knock life and defend himself, they jumped into action; Tracy and Don both grabbed guns and headed over to help their son at the park. According to NY Daily News, it all started a few days before when two girls got into a fight in front of their house:
Tracy Leeser said tensions between her family and the three teenage boys — Jack Herren and brothers Tyrelle and Terrence Ware — started last Wednesday afternoon.
Two girls who are friends of the Ware brothers started fighting in front of the Leesers’ home, and Don Leeser tried to break up the scuffle, she said.
During that fight Don Leeser chased Terrence Ware with a knife and tried to punch the 18-year-old.
Fury from that fight carried over to the evening, Don Leeser said.
While the video shows that no harm eventually came to the brothers, police are still investigating. In a case of irony that probably flew completely over her head, the Ware brothers’ mother stated “‘If they don’t get charged, what kind of example are we setting for our children — that’s it’s OK to pull guns on kids?’ said Christina Halton, 40. ‘No, this is not how we deal with kids.’” Oh but it’s okay to let your children go beat up other kids in the park. That’s how you deal with your kids? Hm. Okay.
As for how the Leesers feel about the whole incident, they’re sticking to their guns (har har kill me now please) and believe they did what was necessary:
“I will do what I have to do to protect my family,” Don Leeser said. “I will let the law try to do their job first, but I’m not going to let my wife and kids get hurt.”
A couple of dim-witted robbers recently burst onto the scene of a gas station and attempted to steal a woman’s purse. Yet when the clerks inside the gas station saw what was happening, they didn’t think twice about rushing outside to the woman’s defense.
While the robbers may have anticipated a Good Samaritan or two might slow them down, they never expected to run into one with mixed martial arts training. The result is something you have to see to believe!
Some might argue with their methods, but these clerks certainly taught these would-be robbers a lesson or two that they’ll never forget.
